Gravel Town | Live uit Lloyd 2016

September 1st, 2016, Gravel Town released 'Live uit Lloyd 2016', recorded on the 28th of January for Live uit Lloyd, the well known radio show broadcasted in Rotterdam and surrounding areas by RTV Rijnmond. During the show there were camera's present, you can watch all five videos on YouTube. Gravel Town is the first band in the history of Live uit Lloyd to release two live EPs of their songs recorded at the show! All songs are mixed and mastered by Michel.

A nice-to-know fact; on the cover of Live uit Lloyd 2016 you see the father of Martijn Ebben. He's the young boy in front. The other boy standing in the back is Michel's fathe. This photo was taken in 1957, on board of 'The Sabre', a inland vessel of which Martijn en Michel's grandfather was the captain.

A Letter from Dreamland - First Snow will fall Tonight
December 2015

On Christmas Day 2015 'A Letter from Dreamland - First Snow will fall Tonight' was released. A new song, recorded by Michel the weeks before and mastered by JJ Golden at Golden Mastering. The song is available for purchase and streaming via the usual online stores. All proceeds are donated to the Nederlandse Leverpatiënten Vereniging (Dutch Liver patients Association).

"A Letter from Dreamland - First Snow will fall Tonight was written for our niece of just six years old. She was taken to the hospital in November, and after a sickbed of five weeks she died of liver failure.
A few weeks before, I wrote this song in the hope that she would get better and that she would be home for Christmas time. Fate decided otherwise and she passed away the week before Christmas."

Gravel Town | The History of Gravel Town, Chapter III - Single Men
November 2015

'The History of Gravel Town' is the band's second album. It will be released in different chapters. Each containing songs and short stories about the ancestors of the members of Gravel Town and their relatives. Single Men is the third chapter. It started on a Wednesday evening the 18th of February 2015, when Peter Ebben (Martijn's father and Michel's uncle) sent some old family photos. Upon seeing Uncle Tony wearing a clown’s hat and playing his accordion, they both knew that that was going to be the next album cover.

“What if we make an album that’s also a storybook, with photos and stories about the persons in them, who’d also be the ancestors of the band members and their families?” Next to the chapters, other stories along with photos will be released regularly via Gravel Town's website and social media.

Chapter III is recorded and mixed by Michel at his Tempting Tunes Studios in September & November 2015 and mastered by Tammo Kersbergen. It contains The Story of Uncle Tony and four songs, written by Mark Lubeek and Michel. It's available for purchase and streaming via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and many other online stores.

About From Grace
Gravel Town recorded the basic tracks of From Grace in February 2013, at a farmhouse in the small town of Harcigny in France. No central heating but just a wooden stove and no surrounding neighbors who could care for loud music. An old cat named Sancy, cows and sheep, an old WWI cemetery and a French café straight from the 1950s, where Marilyn Monroe was still in her prime. The perfect place for Gravel Town to record an album.
During 2013 and the first part of 2014 instruments and vocals were added at Michel’s Tempting Tunes Studios. From Grace contains nine songs written by Mark and Michel and one song from John Hiatt.
